Flavor of Poland

Flavor of Poland

In the charming cooking and travel series, FLAVOR OF POLAND, host Aleksandra August takes viewers on a sentimental journey across distinct regions of Poland meeting with chefs, restauranteurs, historians and locals who teach her about their part of Poland. This is the first series in American television history to explore Poland on such a wide scale, allowing US TV viewers to see it like never before! Throughout the series viewers will learn about the culture, history, landscape and culinary heritage of each region as Aleksandra takes them on a walk through historic cities like Krakow and Warsaw, and makes her way across Poland's various landscapes, from a hike through it's majestic southern mountain range to a stroll along its northern sea coast. She even visits a snail farm in Poland's stunning Warmian-Mazurian lake district and learns the secrets behind the 700-year-old baking tradition of Torun gingerbread! In each episode Aleksandra will sample regional foods and learn about the region's culinary trends both old and new. The characteristic dishes she discovers along the journey then become the basis for recipes that she recreates in her own kitchen - a cooking segment featured at the end of each episode. The series presents Poland as a country with a European class and style, open and welcoming, focused on modernity and progression, while at the same time honoring its rich culture and national heritage - a place where hundreds of years of history are remembered and kept alive among modern life and innovation.
