Miller Center's American Forum

As the nation marks the 50th anniversary of President John F. Kennedy's assassination in November, the Miller Center's American Forum-the weekly public affairs program broadcast from the nation's preeminent institution for study of the American presidency-will reexamine the legacy of the 35th president with a five part series beginning on November 2. These special episodes, hosted by Pulitzer Prize winning historian and journalist Douglas A. Blackmon and available to all public television stations through NETA, will feature new revelations around the Kennedy legacy in ways that continue to shape American life half a century later: Civil Rights, the Vietnam War, relations with Central America, and a family that has fascinated the nation perhaps more than any other. Other episodes in the series feature timely conversations with some of the most acclaimed historians, journalists and observers of American life, including New Yorker correspondent George Packer and his bestselling book, The Unwinding, 2013 Pulitzer Prize winner Gilbert King, and New York Times White House Correspondent Peter Baker on the Bush-Cheney presidency.
