Just sixty miles outside of Chicago, the Joliet Arsenal once met the needs of a country at war as the world’s largest producer of TNT during World War II. Now the “former” Joliet Arsenal is meeting the needs of a country at peace: honoring veterans at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, creating jobs and economic development at the country’s largest “inland port,” and restoring prairie to 'The Prairie State.' Narrated by Chicago native Joe Mantegna, this documentary explores the history of this land through the decades, how it has been transformed, and why this location was considered “ perfect” both then and now for very different purposes.
