Candy Capital

At the time of the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair, the area boasted more than 100 candy companies run by enterprising immigrants whose products included such familiar products as Baby Ruth, Tootsie Roll, Lemonheads, and Juicy Fruit gum. This film explores how the city became known as “the candy capital of the world.” Audio-narrated descriptions of key visual elements are available.
