'Indigenous Bowl' to feature Indian Country's best

The fourth annual 'Indigenous Bowl' will be held in Minneapolis, Minnesota this weekend. The event, hosted by the Minnesota Vikings, brings together the best Native high school football players for an exciting game. The athletes will also get an opportunity to work with skilled coaches, mentors and former professional football players. ICT reporter and producer Kolby KickingWoman will be at U.S. Bank Stadium. Today, he previews what we need to know ahead of kickoff. The Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act, also known as ANCSA, turns 50 this month. This law set up a different type of enrollment for Alaska Natives. ICT special correspondent Meghan Sullivan teamed up with Alaska Public Media to tell us more about the story of identity among Alaska Natives. Holly Cook Macarro, Red Lake Ojibwe, is a regular contributor to our show. She's a partner at Spirit Rock Consulting. Holly has worked for tribal nations for more than 20 years and she's a regular guest commentator on our program. Today, she talks about the effectiveness of having a Native person at the helm at the Interior.
