Top London chef, Robert Holt, is set to open a new restaurant - Le Calmar Saint Marie. That is until he is found dead in the walk-in freezer with a knife in his back. The scene looks like a botched burglary but Humphrey thinks it was a premeditated murder. However when he goes looking for possible enemies, he soon finds too many people with a motive for the murder.
