On Two Fronts: Latinos & Vietnam

On Two Fronts: Latinos & Vietnam

Examine the Latino experience during a war that placed its heaviest burden on the working class. Framing the documentary are memoirs of two siblings who stood on opposite sides of the Vietnam War, one a POW and the other a protestor at home. PBS and WTTW recognize the service and devotion of the many veterans who have bravely served our country with dignity and honor. On Two Fronts: Latinos & Vietnam explores the rich history of Latino service in the Vietnam War. It encourages us to look again at the way all of our soldiers were drawn into the Vietnam War, and how they returned, and to appreciate the service of veterans who have more recently returned from wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Organizations and community members in Chicago have created memorials and monuments dedicated to the service of local and national heroes. We hope you will reconnect with their legacy of bravery and service by viewing a Google Map presenting several military monuments and memorials in Chicago. Visit wttw.com/ontwofronts TVPG
